This Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is collected, used, shared, and protected when you use the NEET Codex mobile application (“NEET Codex”, “the app”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
NEET Codex is owned and operated by Shiv Manishkumar Patel, a sole proprietor trading as “NEET Codex”, registered in India.
By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
NEET Codex is operated by Shiv Manishkumar Patel (sole proprietor, trading as “NEET Codex”).
For any questions, requests, or grievances relating to your personal data, you may contact us:
- Email: neetcodex312@gmail.com
- Grievance contact: +91 92650 48851
We are the entity responsible for deciding how and why your personal data is processed (the “Data Fiduciary” under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).
2. What data we collect
We collect only the data needed to run the app and provide your account. Specifically:
- Phone number — collected when you sign in using one-time-password (OTP) verification.
- Profile information — your name and your class / target exam year, provided during onboarding.
- Learning and performance data — your quiz attempts, test results, accuracy, bookmarks, saved question sets, and similar usage that powers your progress tracking and practice features.
- Subscription status — whether you hold an active paid subscription (managed through the app stores; see Section 4).
We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, or biometric data. We do not knowingly collect more data than the app needs to function.
3. How and why we use your data
We use your data to:
- create and secure your account and verify your identity (phone OTP);
- save and display your study progress, stats, and bookmarks;
- personalise your practice — for example, highlighting chapters where your accuracy is lower;
- provide AI-powered study tools (see Section 5);
- give you access to paid content if you subscribe;
- respond to your support requests and grievances;
- comply with our legal and tax obligations.
We rely on your consent as the basis for this processing. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 8).
4. Subscriptions and payments
Paid subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) through their in-app purchase systems, and managed on our side through RevenueCat (a subscription-management service).
We do not collect or store your card number, bank details, or other payment credentials. Those are handled directly by Apple, Google, and their payment processors under their own privacy policies.
We retain limited payment and transaction records (such as the fact and date of a purchase) where we are legally required to — for example, for tax and GST compliance. These records may be retained even after you delete your account (see Section 7).
5. AI features and third-party AI processing
NEET Codex includes AI-powered features — the Doubt Solver and the Question Generator. When you use these features, the text you submit (such as your question or doubt) is sent to Google’s Gemini AI service to generate a response. This processing is necessary to provide the feature.
AI-generated content may contain errors and should not be treated as a guaranteed-correct or sole source of study material. Please verify important information against your official NCERT and exam resources.
6. Who we share your data with
We share data only with service providers that help us run the app, and only as needed. These include:
- Google Firebase — phone-number authentication and sign-in.
- Supabase — secure storage of your account, profile, and learning data.
- Google Gemini AI — processing your inputs to the AI features (Section 5).
- RevenueCat — managing your subscription status.
- Apple and Google — processing in-app purchases and payments.
Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
7. How long we keep your data, and how to delete it
We keep your personal and learning data for as long as your account is active.
You can delete your account at any time:
- In the app: open Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, learning data, bookmarks, saved sets, and other personal data from our systems.
- On the web: if you no longer have the app installed, you may request deletion at neetcodex.com/legal/account-deletion or by emailing neetcodex312@gmail.com.
When you delete your account, we erase your personal and learning data. We retain only payment and transaction records that we are legally required to keep (for tax / GST purposes), and only for as long as the law requires.
We aim to action deletion requests promptly and within the timelines required under applicable law.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- delete your data and account (see Section 7);
- withdraw your consent to processing at any time (this may mean you can no longer use parts of the app);
- raise a grievance with us using the contact details in Section 1.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at neetcodex312@gmail.com or +91 92650 48851.
9. Children and users under 18
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, anyone under 18 years of age is considered a child.
NEET Codex is intended for students preparing for the NEET-UG examination. If you are under 18, you may use the app only with the agreement and consent of your parent or legal guardian, who must accept our Terms & Conditions and this Privacy Policy on your behalf and authorise any payments.
We do not use children’s data for targeted advertising, behavioural tracking for advertising purposes, or commercial profiling. We use learning data only to provide and personalise the educational features of the app.
If you believe a child has used the app without appropriate parental consent, contact us at neetcodex312@gmail.com and we will address it.
10. How we protect your data
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including authenticated access controls and secure, access-restricted storage. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
